Firstly, you should understand the key principles to truly lose weight and burn fat. Those principles are drinking plenty of water every day (1-2 gallons a day….forget the popular 8 glasses a day!), getting plenty of sleep every night (7-9 hours is recommended), cardio exercise, weight training exercise (even more important than cardio, since muscle burns fat faster and even through out the day), and proper dieting.
The correct foods you should have in your diet are protein, fiber, complex carbohydrates, vitamins & minerals, and healthy fats.
How you eat through out the day will have a tremendous effect on how quickly and effectively you burn fat and lose weight. The way you should eat through out the day is to eat small meals. The amount of meals you should eat is 4-6 meals a day. The reason for eating more meals than what you usually would (3 or sometimes 2), is that you will be increasing your metabolism by keeping it running strong. The more healthier your metabolism is, the more your body will automatically burn calories…even while you sleep!
You obviously would start with breakfast (never skip breakfast), and then eat every 2-3 hours afterwards. The best way to stay consistent with eating 4-6 meals a day, is to pre-plan and/or pre-cook your meals the day before. That way, when you wake up in the morning, you’re good to go. You then will not have any excuses for missing meals, or end up eating something you should not.

You should combine diet and exercise for best and fast results.
Choose healthy foods you like and replace unhealthy ones you eat in a day with them. Drink lots of water. Stay away from fat and sugar. Dont eat after 7pm. Eat 5 small meals in a day, including snacks, not 3 big ones. Eat grilled and boiled foods, not fried and fastfoods. Here is a sample diet plan;
Breakfast: Slices of tomatoes, a piece of cheese, 4 5 olives, 2 egg whites and green tea
Snack: nuts or fruits or yogurt
Lunch: Salad
Snack again
Dinner: Grilled chicken, turkey or fish and boiled vegetables or salad
You should exercise for best, fast and permanent results. You can exercise at home easily with a good program. And support it with walkings or runnings. There is a good program which includes exercises and eating plan. It is most recommended one. Me and my friends use it.
